How do I track my passport application?

The e-passport portal has a dedicated page for checking application status, and a government mission’s guidance gives its address directly. Entering your application details there shows the current state.

Checking requires details from the enrolment slip — which is why keeping the slip handed to you on the day matters so much. Losing it makes following up considerably harder.

The guidance says an email notification is sent when the passport is ready, to the address used to create the user ID. So give an email you actually check when applying — and remember its password.

⚠️ Use only the official portal to check. Many third-party sites solicit these details; an application number and a date of birth are personal information and there is no reason to give them to an unfamiliar site. It is also worth checking the status only occasionally rather than daily — these applications move in stages that take time, and refreshing the page does not hurry any of them.
